There are many clever floating displays that look like or mimic holograms. Microsoft even has glasses now that actually do use hologram technology. But most displays are simply clever tricks of optics and not laser-based at all.
Where is the Holodeck? It may be a little while, but we still have a lot of innovations to share on this show.
