Virtual Worlds and Society

Our guest on this show is Dr. David Brin, scientist, futurist,
and award-winning author.  He discusses some of the issues of
AI and society and gives his thoughts on raising AIs to be human,
perhaps in virtual environments, and how AI might come to be.
The interview also leads us to the Fermi Paradox and other
fascinating subjects.
Dr. Brin also outlines the types of societies that have resulted
in the greatest growth of knowledge and technical capability.
We will talk about the influence that science fiction has had on
technology as well.
